Our Classes
We offer three classes which together will equip you with a wealth of skills and information to provide home care to your loved one.
Fundamentals of Homecare
Our "Fundamentals of Home Care" class is designed to give family caregivers a solid foundation in essential caregiving skills. This course covers the core responsibilities and emotional aspects of caregiving, emphasizing a person-centered approach. Participants will learn how to create a safe home environment, assist with personal hygiene, and manage mobility and nutrition. The class also includes hands-on practice through simulations, ensuring caregivers feel confident in their ability to provide compassionate, effective care at home.
As with all our home classes, one of our experienced care coaches will visit your home to provide hands-on training in both theory and practical homecare techniques. The class typically takes 4-5 hours and is presented in a relaxed, informal manner—more of a discussion and demonstration than a classroom setting. You’re welcome to have up to three family members join the session, ensuring everyone involved in your loved one’s care feels confident and prepared.
At the end of the Fundamentals of Homecare class, you will have gained a solid foundation in essential caregiving skills. You’ll learn how to assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring your loved one’s safety and comfort. The class will also cover basic patient safety, including fall prevention and emergency response, so you’ll feel prepared to handle common challenges that may arise in a home care setting.
In addition, you’ll develop effective communication techniques for interacting with your loved one and any other caregivers involved in their care. This course is designed to equip you with the practical knowledge and confidence needed to provide compassionate and competent care at home.

Advanced Homecare
Our "Advanced Homecare" class is designed for family caregivers who have completed the Fundamentals course and are ready to deepen their skills. This class focuses on managing chronic conditions, providing specialized care for dementia and Alzheimer’s patients, and touches on providing end-of-life care. You'll also learn how to support the emotional well-being of your loved one, manage caregiver stress, and maintain accurate documentation. The course includes practical guidance on working with healthcare professionals and offers ongoing resources and continuing education opportunities to keep you informed and confident in your caregiving role.
As with our other classes, one of our experienced care coaches will come to your home for your training. This session is purely discussion-based, as the hands-on techniques were covered in the Fundamentals of Homecare class. Advanced Homecare typically takes about 3 hours to cover everything in the curriculum.
At the end of the Advanced Homecare class, you will have honed your skills to manage more complex caregiving tasks. This course dives deeper into advanced techniques such as administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and managing specialized equipment, enabling you to provide a higher level of care for your loved one.
You’ll also gain expertise in handling challenging situations, like managing behavioral changes and responding to medical emergencies, with confidence and calm. By the end of this class, you’ll be fully prepared to take on the responsibilities of advanced home care, ensuring your loved one receives the attentive and skilled care they need.

Through real-life case studies and interactive discussions, caregivers will gain the confidence to handle end-of-life care with confidence and compassion.
At the end of the Hospice and End-of-Life Care course, you will have the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate and respectful care during one of life's most challenging stages.
